At this point, here's roughly what I'm thinking it will be like:
It will probably be under 30 minutes. If things really go well, we may aim for full feature-length, but this is the first time around, and it depends what we are filming. Quality is important in this movie, but it won't be Pixar level!
This is essentially a zero budget movie. We are using equipment that we already have for the most part, I'm sure things will get bought as we go along, but the movie itself has no budget. This is to be a CG movie, but mostly video. Using the new motion tracking features of Blender, there will be a good deal of CG though. (Enough to make it hard!)
It will be HD, but not full HD, (at least not entirely) The reason for this is that it will be shot on Canon DSLRs, which will do 24 or 30 fps at full HD (1920x180p), or 1280x720 at 60 fps. I would love to shoot the entire movie in full HD, but we have a lot of action scenes, and when slow motion is needed, 60 fps or higher is the only way to go. That said, probably any scenes that aren't fast will be filmed in full HD. (Possibly. We may not though, because that makes for more work in post-processing)
This is a production update blog for the Blender movie Project 2.6. This video is not directly affiliated with the Blender Foundation, but is is being made with Blender. Lacking a better inspiration, project 2.6 refers to the version of Blender. If they can have project mangoes, we can have project 2.6s!

First post! A little bit of background
Well, late February, and we are underway! Script is being written, ideas are coming out of the woodwork, and I'm pretty excited about this.
I suppose I should give a little background here, there are four of us currently working on this movie. Right now I'm writing the script, and learning as I go. This is the first time I've done something like this, so I don't know a lot of particulars yet, not even how long the film will aim to be! I won't publish names yet, and I think we will have a minimum of actors. So; if we have four people, and two people don't want to act, what do you think we can do with that? Actually, we can do a lot with that, but we will recruit some more people at some point. We are going to break the work up, so once the script and filming is finished, we can each work on sections, and then get together and compile them. I'll try to keep posts reasonably short, so here is Blenderfan signing off! 'Till next time!
